How to use PWA Badge

Written and reviewed by the PWAs.app web platform editorial team.

01

What the badge represents

The badge displays the technical PWA score produced at scan time. It summarizes public manifest, icon, display and service-worker signals; it is not a security seal or editorial endorsement.

Rescan after meaningful deployment changes and update the score parameter in the snippet when the result changes.

02

Where to use the badge

The SVG works well in GitHub README files, technical documentation and a website footer or about page. Markdown and HTML versions are generated together.

Do not present the badge as permanent certification. PWA capabilities can change whenever the source website changes.

COMMON QUESTIONS

PWA Badge FAQ

Short answers about what the public tool checks and what remains under browser or website-owner control.

Does the badge update automatically?

The SVG reflects the score in its URL. Run a fresh scan and replace the score value after changing the PWA.

Can I use the badge commercially?

Yes. You may embed the generated badge, provided it is not described as a security certification or store approval.

Does the badge slow down my application?

It is a small cacheable SVG. For zero external requests, download and self-host the badge instead of embedding the hosted URL.
