What is d3vices — hardware diagnostics and who is it for?
d3vices is an open-source diagnostics tool for checking the hardware on your device. It tests the microphone, camera, screen, keyboard, sensors and network, so you can confirm what works and what does not. Each test focuses on one component. You can watch a live microphone waveform and play back a short recording, view your webcam and its actual resolution and frame rate, press keys to see them register, and measure network latency, jitter and transfer speeds against a real endpoint.
Open-source hardware diagnostics that test your microphone, camera, screen, keyboard, sensors and network.
What you can do
- Microphone test: Check that your mic is heard, see a live waveform, watch the input level and record a short clip to play back.
- Camera test: See your webcam live, read the resolution and frame rate it actually delivers, and switch between cameras.
- Keyboard test: Press every key and watch it light up. ANSI, ISO and JIS layouts, with rollover and ghosting detection.
- Network test: Latency, jitter, download and upload measured against a real endpoint, plus what the browser reports.
